Application Process

Prior to submitting an application for funding, please read through this page and ensure your organization fits within the following Witham Family Hotels Charitable Fund guidelines:

  1. The organization is not required to be designated as tax exempt, non-profit by the IRS.
  2. The project or organization should fit within one of our Mission Statement’s five funding areas.
  3. The project or organization needs to be based within (or significantly benefit) Hancock County.

Funding amounts are based on the scope of need. If a donation in the form of a gift certificate at one of our properties seems like a better fit, please visit our Gift Certificates page. Applications must be filled out in their entirety to be considered. After reading through the information on this page, you will be directed to a Donation Request Form as well as provided an opportunity to upload your own files. After filling out the form, you will receive a confirmation email that your request has been received.

Decision Making Policies

The Witham Family Hotels Charitable Fund Board will evaluate requests on a rolling basis, and will allocate the fund’s budget proportionally amongst both small and large projects representing our five established areas of funding. We ask that you include your project and planning dates in your application so we may ensure we are responding within an appropriate timeframe. Our Board is comprised of members of both the Witham Family Hotels staff and the Witham Family itself, all of whom are familiar with the Hancock County community and the unique needs and challenges faced in the region.

To maintain the consistency, impartiality and fairness of the process, the Board asks that you do not contact them directly about any aspect of your funding request.

Progress Reports

Once funding has been approved and the project is underway, we welcome photographs and other information that help us understand how our funding supports your work, and to share your success stories on our website. This accountability is vital for our continued support of local projects, and we love to see the wonderful work being carried out in the community!
